Hard to find important information
The important information that you want your online visitors
to see should be easy to find. Ideally it should not be more
than two clicks away.
Navigation not obvious
The online visitors should be able to navigate to all the
content via intuitive navigation menus and links.
Links not clear to identify
Do not make your online visitors guess to find out a link. Links
should use a different style than the surrounding text. They can
also change to a different style when the mouse pointer hovers
over the link.
Too much information in a page
If you have lots of information to convey in a page, consider breaking
the page into multiple pages. The important information can be
in the main page and detailed information can be in subsequent
pages. The pages should have appropriate links to navigate between
them.
Website takes too long to load
If an online visitor has to wait too long for the webpage to load
they are likey to lose patience and leave the website. Each webpage
should take ideally no more than a couple of seconds
and defnitely less than 5 seconds to load completely.
Inconsistent look & feel
All the pages of the website should present an integrated and consistent
visual environment. This applies to colors, fonts, navigation,
links etc.
Outdated content
Outdated and stale content in your website give a negative impression
about your business. If your website has dated information
you should be especially careful to have your website updated on
time.
